Breakfast/Lunch Program Cook

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Breakfast/ Lunch Program Cook will provide a breakfast and lunch program within the Indian Spring School.
The cook will be required to be at the school from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. The cook will
provide breakfast and lunch for all students as they arrive at the school each morning. The time allotted will
allow time to prepare, distribute and clean up afterwards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare, cook, and clean for the breakfast and Lunch Program.
• Must be dependable and reliable.
• Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with staff members.
• Organize food and storage, as well as taking inventory each day.
• Always keep the kitchen area clean
• Empty garbage/ recycling receptacles and dispose trash into dumpsters.
• Ensure safe food guidelines are followed.
• Other duties relevant to the position shall be assigned as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience, and Training:
• Any previous cooking experience would be considered an asset.
• Food Handling Certificate required and or must be willing to obtain.
• First Aide Certificate an asset.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
• Able to withstand long hours of standing, bending, and moving around.
• Must be able to pick and carry up to 50 lbs.
Conditions of Employment:
• Access to reliable transportation to and from work as travel may be required.
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons check and Child Abuse Registry check.
• Must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
