POSITION: TENANT RELATIONS OFFICER Department: HOUSING
Term: Full -Time SALARY: $45,000.00
Reports to: Housing Manager Close Date: Open Until Filled

Position Summary:
The Tenant Relations Officer will work directly with the Housing Department and be responsible for performing
tenancy management and providing housing services to the tenants of Swan Lake First Nation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Establish healthy relationships with tenants and related stakeholders
• Manage tenant repair requests, housing inquiries/complaints
• Manage tenant move-ins and move-outs; completing unit condition reports
• Conduct sign-ups of tenancies, including explanation of conditions of tenancy
• Conduct annual and probationary housing inspections and/or as required
• Provide notices as required to tenants
• Address issues related to breach of tenancy agreements and housing policy
• Enforce housing policy and procedures
• Rent management; retrieve rental arrears and distribute rent notices
• Be involved with housing committee meetings
• Assist with filing, records management, information gathering, correspondence, communications, minutetaking, procurement, scheduling, reporting, etc. as directed
• Data entry into ASAP Software; ensure all tenant and unit information is entered and up to date
• Assist with maintaining filing system and ensuring filing is completed accordingly and continuously
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to work independently and well with others
• Ability to demonstrate positive judgement and act accordingly
• Experience in problem solving and conflict resolution
• Skills in the use of computer software packages for word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
• Well-developed communication; written and verbal, negotiation, and conciliation skills
• Strong decision-making qualities
• Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
• University or College Degree (bachelor’s level or greater)
• 5 years’ experience in property management, accommodations or facilities management or related fields
• Experience in customer service and client facing activities.
• 3-5 years in a managerial capacity
• Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Experience managing customer relationships.
• Experience and understanding of change management practices.
• Excellent communication skills.

Conditions of Employment:
• Must hold and maintain a Valid Class Drivers 5 drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle as travel will
be required.
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons check and Child Abuse Registry check.
• Applicants must be bondable.
• Must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
