POSITION: Receptionist (Front Desk) Department: Administration
Term: Full-Time SALARY: $36,400.00
Reports to: Director of Operations Close Date: Open until filled

Position Summary:
The Administration Receptionist is responsible for providing clerical and administrative in an effective
and efficient manner for support Swan Lake First Nation. A successful candidate must possess excellent
communication skills, proficient in computer skills (including MS Office, PowerPoint, Excel) and maintain
discretion and high confidentiality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Administration Receptionist will include, but are not limited to, the
following:
• Open and unlock the front door (8:30 A.M.)
• Close and lock the front door at the end of the day (4:30 P.M.)
• Answer all incoming calls and handle caller’s inquiries.
• Re-direct calls as appropriate and take adequate messages when required.
• Update employee directory.
• Greet, assist and/or direct visitors and community members to the appropriate staff.
• Receive, direct and relay fax messages.
• Respond to public inquiries.
• Pick up and deliver the mail; open (with the exception of mail marked Confidential) and date
stamp all mail and correspondence.
• Maintain a general filing system and file all correspondence as necessary.
• Monitor the use of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain an adequate inventory of office supplies, order as necessary.
• Coordinate the repair and maintenance of office equipment (photo copier, phones etc)
• Maintain schedule for Administration boardroom; make preparations for meetings.
• Assist in the planning and preparation of meetings and conference calls.
• Maintain the community bulletin board.
• Provide administrative support for the Director of Operations
• Assist the Director of Operations and other staff as requested.
• Perform other duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of Office Administration,
• Excellent Communication, decision making and interpersonal skills,
• Ability to work independently,
• Time Management and ability to prioritize workload,
• Ability to operate word processing, spreadsheet, and other software pertinent to the
responsibilities of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, multi-tasks conflicting demands, meet deadlines
and work independently

• Demonstrated ability to deal with sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering of information.
• Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Office Software products, email and
internet search engines.
• Highly proficient computer skills
• Keyboarding speed of 40 wpm
• CPR/First Aid Level III
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Excellent teamwork and team building skills
Conditions of Employment:
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons Check and Child Abuse Registry check.
• Must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
