POSITION: Respite Worker Department: Jordans Principle

Position Summary:
The Jordan’s Principal program has positions available for people to provide respite to care givers of
children in the program. We are looking for dependable and flexible candidates who are kind, patient,
and kid friendly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide safe and fun supervision and care to children served, either in-home or at the Jordan’s
Principal facility
• Pick up and drop off children before and after scheduled respite care.
• Provide children served with a healthy meal during scheduled respite care.
• Perform light cleaning duties to maintain clean and safe environment.
• Document all activities and events during each shift according to program policy.
• Provide regular reports to program supervisor.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience working with, supervising, and/or parenting children of all ages.
• Ability and willingness to work with children and youth with disabilities.
• Experience providing care and support to persons with disabilities of any age is an asset.
• Training in First Aid/CPR, Food Handler’s, and Non-Violent
• Crisis Intervention is an asset, but training will be provided.
Conditions of Employment:
• Valid Class 5 MB driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Persons check and Child Abuse Registry check.

▪ Must be willing to submit to random drug testing.
Employment is Subject to a Clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
