SLFN Watersheds Stewardship Forum: April Newsletter

Just over 1 year ago, in early 2020, Eric Cameron (SLFN Lands Manager), Dave Scott (SLFN Elder/ Historian) and Derek Kornelsen (Rootstalk Resources) began working on an initiative to establish a forum that would build capacity at the SLFN Lands Department and ensure that SLFN builds strong collaborative relationships with agencies and stakeholders who conduct land management activities on or near SLFN lands. By the summer of 2020, we had collaborated with local Watershed Districts to establish the SLFN Watersheds Stewardship Forum. This new forum includes a core group of members from SLFN, Pembina Valley Watershed District, Central Assiniboine Watershed District, Redboine Watershed District, the government of Manitoba’s Department of Agriculture and Resource Development, and the federal government’s Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.
