Brighter futures Initiative (BFI) was introduced in 1992 to assist First Nations in developing community based approaches to better health in a culturally sensitive manner.
The BFI program is made up of five components which are; Mental Health, Child Development, Parenting, Healthy Babies and Injury Prevention.
The program promotes health and prevents ill health through learning related activities. It provides funding for activities that are intended to support the well-being of all SLFN members.
