Swan Lake First Nation Health Services is seeking a reliable, motivated and self-directed Environmental Services Worker (Custodian) to maintain clean, safe and welcoming environments for clients, staff and community members.

The successful candidate must be dependable, take pride in their work, show initiative and be able to complete assigned duties with minimal supervision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Clean and sanitize offices, examination and program rooms, common areas and other assigned spaces within the Health Centre.
  • Provide regular cleaning of the Horse Barn meeting rooms, washrooms, lobby and other general-use areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum and maintain floors and other surfaces.
  • Clean and sanitize washrooms and ensure supplies are regularly stocked.
  • Empty garbage and recycling and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Ensure meeting, program and common areas are clean, organized and ready for use.
  • Monitor and restock cleaning, sanitation and washroom supplies.
  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules and checklists for both facilities.
  • Identify and report maintenance, safety or repair concerns.
  • Assist with room setup and cleanup for meetings, programs and Health Centre activities when required.
  • Use cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding clients, staff and Health Centre activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous cleaning, custodial or environmental services experience is an asset.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and move between assigned work locations as required.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to manage daily responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to recognize when additional cleaning is required.
  • Ability and willingness to take initiative in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, bending, lifting and moving cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • WHMIS and First Aid/CPR certification are assets or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is preferred.
  • Successful Criminal Record Check and other required screening must be provided in accordance with Swan Lake First Nation policy.

HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Hours may include a late morning to early evening schedule to allow cleaning to be completed around Health Centre appointments, programs, meetings and activities at the Horse Barn.
